Day 5 Fly to Hilo, Hawaii (also known as the Big Island)
7:00 am to 8:00 am Breakfast Portuguese Sausage, Eggs and Rice
This will be the last meal on Oahu. Breakfast will be prepared by host and ready by at least 7:30 am. Portuguese Sausage, eggs, and rice is a standard local breakfast in Hawaii.
8:00 am to 10:00 am Pack and Clean
We will need to be packed and ready to go by 10:00 am to catch an 11:00 am flight. All leftovers will be discarded and trash taken out. Teamwork makes the dream work.
10:00 am to 12:00 pm Travel time to Hilo
We will depart on Hawaiian Airlines. Please ensure that your host has your frequent flyer number before booking flights. The host will book all the flights. You may not be sitting together on the plane, but no worries, it is a short flight.
12:00 am to 2:00 pm Lunch Best Poke Bowl in Hawaii and Check into Home
Poke Market LLC is our favorite poke bowl in the state. It is located right in Hilo the heart of Hilo. From there we will check into our lodging and get settled for a minute. Take a couple minutes to get settled before exploring Hilo town.
2:00 pm to 5:00 pm Shopping and Short exploration of Hilo Town
We will take this time to shop for a few items needed for our picnic on our volcano trip the next day. And breakfast. Fruit, Spinach Tortillas, Eggs, mixed veggitables, hamburger, and snacks.
5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Dinner and get Ready
We will have to figure out dinner and have food for when the Bee dance ends. Let’s figure it out that day.
The Bee dance is one of the most underground jungle experiences in Hawaii. It is located at the Hawaiian Sanctuary in Pahoa. Starting at 6:00 pm they will have a sound healing journey using crystal bowls, drums, chimes, and voice. At 7:00 pm the DJ Set and Open Dance floor starts grooving. There is a $20 dollar fee per person.
